PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library’s Mystery Book Discussion Group “Mystery, Murder and Mayhem” will discuss the book The Lock Artist by Steve Hamilton this Wednesday, March 21, at 7 pm, at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway.
Marked by tragedy, traumatized at the age of eight, Michael, now eighteen, is no ordinary young man. Besides not uttering a single word in ten years, he discovers the one thing he can somehow do better than anyone else. Whether it’s a locked door without a key, a padlock with no combination, or even an eight hundred pound safe, he can open them all. It’s an unforgivable talent—one that will make young Michael a hot commodity with the wrong people and, whether he likes it or not, push him ever close to a life of crime. Seeing his chance to escape, he takes one desperate gamble risking everything to come back home to the only person he ever loved, and to unlock the secret that has kept him silent for so long.
The Mystery, Murder and Mayhem Mystery Book Discussion Group meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7 pm, at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center. The group is open to anyone who enjoys a good mystery. The discussion also provides disabled access with 72 hours’ notice.
