Volunteer computer tutors sought by Legacy Commons

PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale is seeking volunteers to provide fundamental computer and Internet assistance for individuals 55 and over at Legacy Commons for Active Seniors, located at 930 East Avenue Q-9 in Palmdale.

Volunteer tutors will be asked to commit for a minimum of 3 months. The hours are flexible in accordance to the operating hours of Legacy Commons, which are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Duties include tutoring seniors at varying levels of computer and technology familiarity, responding to general computer and technology questions, and encouraging seniors to become confident and comfortable using computers and technology.

To qualify, applicants should be fluent in computer use and operations, be polite and personable, and possess good communications skills.
