Broken hydrant creates geyser on Palmdale Blvd

by The AV Times Staff • January 4, 2012

PALMDALE – A geyser of water shot into the sky and flowed onto the street, causing a bit of a spectacle this morning on Palmdale Boulevard near the 14 freeway.

City officials say there was a vehicular accident this morning and a hydrant was hit, which caused the water to shoot into the air.

LA County Waterworks responded around 8 a.m., turned off the water to the hydrant, and fixed the hydrant. The fire department also responded.

No one was hurt in the incident, but traffic was slowed in the area while crews cleaned up the mess.
