by The AV Times Staff • December 16, 2011

PALMDALE – The City Council of the City of Palmdale is accepting applications for one term on the Planning Commission in District 3.  The term for this seat will expire in June 2013. The deadline to return applications is Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 at 6 pm to the City Clerk’s department, located at 38300 Sierra Highway, Suite A in Palmdale.

The map showing the boundaries of District 3 along with the Commissioner Application and Volunteer Application are available on the City’s Web site at www.cityofpalmdale.org and in the City Clerk’s department. Applicants applying for a District must reside in that district and are encouraged to attach a resume.

Applicants should have basic knowledge of the City’s zoning and subdivision ordinance and General Plan and ability to attend regular monthly evening meetings plus additional meetings as needed. A substantial time commitment is required. If appointed, a completed state mandated Statement of Economic Interests, Form 700, would be required.

The Commission meets on the second Thursday of every month in the Council Chamber. Commissioners receive $100 per meeting with a maximum of $200 per month. For more information, call the City Clerk at 661-267-5151.
