Palmdale to provide Winter Break Day Camps

PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale’s parks and recreation department is offering Winter Break Day Camps beginning Dec. 19 for youth in kindergarten through eighth grade.

Advance registration is required. Day camp registration is available on a weekly or daily basis. Weekly registration cost is $95 for Palmdale residents and $114 for non-residents. The daily fee is $25 for Palmdale residents and $30 for non-residents.  Sibling discounts are available.

Winter camps will begin on Monday, Dec. 19 and will be held at the Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center, 3850-A East Avenue S, and the Marie Kerr Park Recreation Center, 2723-A Rancho Vista Blvd., from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Palmdale Oasis Camp will be open Dec. 19 through Dec. 30, and the Marie Kerr Camp will be open Dec. 19 through Jan. 6.

“Children will enjoy themed projects, games, holiday fun, contest, social interaction and art projects, all under a safe and supervised environment,” said Palmdale’s Recreation Supervisor Paula Leszkiewicz.

“In addition to the kids having a ton of fun, our winter day camps give parents the chance to get some holiday shopping and chores done,” said Leszkiewicz.

Parents may register online at www.cityofpalmdale.org or by visiting the parks and recreation office at 38260 10th St. E., Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 6 pm. Registration can also be made at the Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center at 3850 E. Ave. S, Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 6 pm.
