Palmdale to issue “Good Parking” tickets during the holidays

by The AV Times Staff • December 13, 2011

PALMDALE – The City of Palmdale’s Parking Enforcement Division will be issuing “Good Parking Tickets” now through Dec. 24 to motorists who display good parking habits.

“During the holiday season, sometimes the stress of shopping and the crowds make things like finding a good parking space frustrating,” said Palmdale’s Parking Enforcement Supervisor Dulce Gomez. “Therefore it is even more imperative for people to exercise courtesy and make the right choices when it comes to parking.  Our ‘Good Parking Tickets’ will let people know that their good actions are seen and appreciated.”

In addition to the “Good Parking Tickets,” those “cited” will receive a coupon good for a pair of tickets to one of the upcoming Palmdale Playhouse radio plays.

Palmdale’s Parking Enforcement Officers will continue to patrol the city as part of their usual daily routines. The City hopes to issue more “Good Parking Tickets” than violations.

“I think everyone feels good when they’re told they’ve done good or done something right,” added Gomez. “This is a great way, especially during the holidays, to make people feel good about making their community safer. It’s also a great reminder to always park and drive safely.”
