This weekend at Palmdale Playhouse

by The AV Times Staff • November 4, 2011

PALMDALE – The Palmdale Playhouse will host three Sherlock Holmes radio plays starting at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, November 5th and then starting at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 6th at the Playhouse,  located at 38334 10th St. East in Palmdale. Tickets are $7.

“The world of Victorian England is brought to life in three well known Arthur Conan Doyle stories from his world famous Sherlock Holmes series,” said radio play director M. Steven Felty. “These audio theatre presentations combine the fine art of story telling with the excitement of sound effects recreated live at the Foley table to bring you a thrilling evening of adventure.”

“The Speckled Band,” the first of the three plays, is the story of a young woman who consults the detective Sherlock Holmes about the suspicious death of her sister.

“A Scandal In Bohemia” is the tale of King Wilhem Gottsreich von Ormstein of Bohemia, who is caught in a compromising position and requests the assistance of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

“The Final Adventure” is Sherlock Holmes’ last great story involving his arch nemesis, Professor Moriarty.

Tickets for upcoming events may be purchased 24 hours a day on the Playhouse Web site at www.cityofpalmdale.org/playhouse.  For more information, contact the Palmdale Playhouse at 66-267-5684.
