Previous Taste of Palmdale winner Dusti Patterson shares a sampling with Mayor Ledford Tuesday of what she will be offering at next week’s event.

PALMDALE – With more than 25 local restaurants, six local vineyards, an art walk and even live jazz, organizers say this year’s Taste of Palmdale will be bigger and better than ever before.

“We’re looking forward to having a humongous event,” said organizer Ralph Vasquez.

Vasquez joined Palmdale Mayor Jim Ledford and previous Taste of Palmdale winners at a press conference Tuesday to announce details for the 4th Annual Taste of Palmdale. The event is slated for Thursday, September 15th, at Poncitlan Square and is expected to draw more than 500 people.

“If you think you’ve eaten it all, I beg to differ,” said Mayor Ledford. “There’s a lot more out there… just look at the lineup.”

Participating restaurants and caterers include: Applebee’s, Asia Buffet Palmdale, Bayou Bar B Que, Big Bel’s Sweet Potato Pies, Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe, Cascades at Rancho Vista Golf Club, Double D’s Cupcakes, El Tapatio Restaurant, Famous Dave’s, Fire Island Grill, Fourteen Restaurant & Lounge in the Embassy Suites Palmdale, Fresco II Restaurant & Catering, Gino’s Italian Restaurant, Hilton Garden Inn Palmdale, Holiday Inn Palmdale/Lancaster, HomeTown Buffet, Jersey Mike’s Subs Palmdale, Johnny Carino’s, LeMaes’ Fine Cuisine Catering, Max Catering at AV Country Club, Nadia Cakes, Olive Garden, Palmdale Hotel Club 300 West and Catering, Pars Restaurant, Steer N’ Stein Restaurant, Terry Fayes Soul Food, University of Antelope Valley, and Vincent Hill Station Restaurant & Saloon.

In addition to the best food and taste awards, one lucky restaurant will win two weeks of billboard advertising from Lamar Advertising.

This year, for the first time, the Taste of Palmdale will feature exquisite wine from local vineyards. Scheduled to participate are AV Winery, Agua Dulce Winery, Fault Line Wines, High Desert Cellars, Leona Valley Winery, Reyes Winery, and Stone Pine Estate.

“September is wine month so this is falling into the pattern of wine month and bringing the Wineries to the Taste of Palmdale,” said Vasquez.

The event will also feature an art walk highlighting the works of local artists and live Jazz from the Gina Ecksine and the Tony Capko Trio.

The 4th Annual Taste of Palmdale takes place from 4 to 9 p.m., Thursday, September 15th, at Poncitlan Square. Admission is $30 prior to the event and $40 at the door. Entertainment, food, and three drink tickets are included with the price of admission. Special VIP Packages are also available. Children eight years of age and under are admitted free with a paid adult. For tickets, contact 661-272-3232 or visit info@tasteofpalmdale.com.
