Lancaster resident killed on the Antelope Valley 14 Freeway

Updated 8/18/11: The driver killed on the Antelope Valley 14 Freeway Wednesday morning was identified today as Paul Clark Gillies, 56, of Lancaster.

He died at the scene Wednesday morning after rear ending a big rig on the Antelope Valley 14 Freeway just north of Santa Clarita.

The crash occurred shortly after 9 a.m. south of Escondido Canyon Road, CHP Officer Ed Jacobs told the L.A. Daily News.

Two northbound lanes were blocked while an investigation was conducted into the circumstances of the crash.

    I was first on this accident. I ran back to help but it did not look good.
    Myself and another guy waived off Cars and Trucks to avoid another collision.
    One driver hit the Van but not too bad. Then we did what we could, for safety of others. Bad Day
