LANCASTER – A 14-year-old girl who went missing in Lancaster returned home the following day, and a 24-year-old man who allegedly was with her when she disappeared surrendered to authorities and was arrested on a warrant, with bail set at $1.9 million, the sheriff’s department reported Monday.
Gail Guerrero went missing on Thursday, and authorities on Friday sought public help to find her, circulating her photo along with a photo of Qwienton Keith, who they said was believed to be with her.
Later on Friday, the teen returned to her home, the sheriff’s department reported. And some time after that on Friday, Keith turned himself in and was arrested on the previously issued warrant, the sheriff’s department reported.
The case remains under investigation.

Mars says
this girl was running the streets and took off with this man..This girl manipulated everyone around her…Wait till you hear this girl talk…She is not the only girl running the streets either ..It’s a shame we dont have trackers we can put under the skin Cause then half these girls probably wouldn’t roam the streets saying there at there friends house..A Lot of parents let there kids roam the streets than cry wolf when they don’t come home or the kid is out with someone they shouldn’t be!
Alexis says
“The National Center For Missing And Exploited Children.” They do so much! This situation turned out reasonably well, as far as this child being returned, and the exploiter turning himself in.
Mars says
I wouldn’t call him an exploiter because you don’t know if this girl runs the street with a pile of makeup on lieing about her age..I have girls and adult children and believe me I see parents allow there kids to do whatever they want they roam the street stay out all night then cover uo say they were at a friends house..Everyone that knows this girl will say the same
Alexis says
@Mars…of course there is always one person like you that blames the 14 year old girl for the actions of the adult male.
Rikkie says
How was the The National Center For Missing And Exploited Children involved in this case? The article does not mention them. And what exactly do they do? Except receive tax monies as a non-governmental entity. Their last CEO drew a 7 figure annual salary. What are their concrete accomplishments?
David Davis says
He may not get charged for anything if he didn’t have sex with her and she left voluntarily. They may have gone with friends to visit a museum or an amusement park at a distance from home and they were delayed in returning home.
John Doe says
He will and should be charged at least for kidnapping. The pervert is an adult and has no business with a 14 year old with or without her permission. Plus he had a felony warrant. If it was my kid he would hope the cops find him first. I don’t care what his excuses are.
Tim Scott says
Should be charged with kidnapping? Based on what? I’m not saying that he won’t, since there’s no information about what actually happened, but as has already been said she may have gone voluntarily. Someone who tags along with you isn’t kidnapped. One would think a wanna be tough guy like yourself would know that, since no doubt people impressed by your heroic mien want to tag along with you all the time.
Alexis says
A fourteen year old girl doesn’t have the maturity to decide whether to tag along with a twenty four year old man. It is the child’s parents responsibility to make sure she isn’t hanging out with an adult male that is up to no good. Any man with a right moral compass would never go off with a fourteen year old. Thankful she returned and he turned himself in. Of course there will always be the commenters that will blame the fourteen year old child for bringing his downfall
Tim Scott says
Agreed on “doesn’t have the maturity.” That doesn’t make a kidnapping case.
Rikkie says
A general comment…. not necessarily on this case.
“A fourteen year old girl doesn’t have the maturity to decide…” Sure they do. That is why we have a thriving juvenile justice system in this state / country. According to the State of California a fourteen year old has the maturity to make decisions and be held accountable for every single one of those decisions. Easily as an adult.
A fourteen year old breaks the law? Off to juvie / adult prison you go. A fourteen year old dresses like a 20 year old hooker, lies about her age and willingly participates in biologically appropriate conduct? The poor child, the evil pedophile, now she will be damaged for life as a child victim of child s3xual abuse. How could the poor child know what she was doing?
The CA Supreme Court quite recently ruled that a ten (10!) year old possessed the required maturity to decide to waive his Miranda Rights when questioned by police without a parent or guardian present.
I recently read about a 15 year old kid (different state but no matter) who tagged along on a burglary with his 16 year old buddy. 16 year old buddy brings along a gun and starts shooting at the cops. Cops shoot and kill 16 year old buddy. 15 year old kid gets life in adult prison under felony murder – for the murder of 16 year old buddy. In other words, 15 year old kid was not only mature enough to make decisions for himself (the burglary), 15 year old kid was deemed mature enough to foresee the consequences of not only 16 year old buddy’s actions, but also that of the police.
Only, and really only, when it comes to voluntary and willing sexual conduct is a minor all of a sudden a toddler without an ounce of decision making capability.
In this article, purely hypothetical – let’s say this girl had s3x with this man, perhaps lied about her age, and then killed him for his iPhone X and his wallet. She would be – on the very same day, mind you – a child victim of child s3xual abuse and an adult defendant for murder. He would be a murder victim and at the same time an evil pedophile.
This double standard is so bizarre that words fail me (not really). The chiiiiildren!
Rikkie says
btw – in California a “child” up to 17 years and 364 days doesn’t have the maturity to decide to engage in any kind of s3xual conduct. With anyone. Need not be with an adult.
Any pedos here?
