Palmdale – Deputies descended on seven residences in Palmdale on Wednesday to make sure sex offenders were in compliance with their registration requirements, authorities said.
The operation resulted in the arrest of Arthur Greene, a 50-year-old registered sex offender previously convicted of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14. Greene was arrested on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender, according to a press release by the Palmdale Sheriff Station. Read it below:
On Wednesday, November 6, 2013, deputies from the Palmdale Partners Against Crime (PAC) team conducted a seven location compliance check of registered sex-offenders throughout the Palmdale area.
One arrest was made during these searches.
Arrested during the compliance check was 50-year-old Palmdale resident Arthur Greene, who was found in the 38000 Block of 30th Street East, in the City of Palmdale.
Greene was arrested for falsifying his address at the time he registered with Palmdale Sheriff Station.
Greene was transported to Palmdale Sheriff Station where he was booked on charges of failure to register as a sex offender with a bail amount of $20,000. Greene is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Antelope Valley Courthouse.
Six other locations were searched and all registered sex-offenders at the locations were found to be in compliance with the court-ordered terms for their release.
