
LANCASTER – One suspect is in custody in connection with an assault at a Lancaster nightclub that left one man dead early Saturday morning, authorities said.
The incident was reported around 12:37 a.m. Saturday in the 44200 Block of Division Street in Lancaster, according to deputy Don Walker of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to a head injury, Walker stated.
A friend of the victim said the man was beaten with a toilet cover in the bathroom of the Mango Tango nightclub.
Sheriff’s officials have not confirmed this information, saying only that “the man was the victim of an assault at a local bar.”
The suspect’s identity is being withheld due to the ongoing investigation, Walker said.

UPDATED 9/29/13: The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Luciano Juarez of Lancaster, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
