LANCASTER – Captain Pat Nelson, the new leader of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, is inviting you to join him for coffee this Thursday (Feb. 14), from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Lemon Leaf Café, located at 653 W. Lancaster Boulevard.

Captain Nelson will be available for any questions you may have concerning public safety in Lancaster and his goals as the new head of the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Nelson said Wednesday.

The meeting is part of the Lancaster Station’s “Coffee with a Deputy” program, a monthly meeting that provides a forum for residents to meet with Lancaster Station deputies, get to know them, and bring problems in their neighborhoods to the attention of law enforcement.

Team members from the city of Lancaster’s Public Safety Office will also be on hand to provide information about the Neighborhood Watch program, as well as contact information for other city services.

For more information on the “Coffee with a Deputy” program, contact Deputy Miguel Ruiz or Sgt. Theresa Dawson at 661-948-8466.

I’ll do my best to attend this event and I’m sure that the AV Times editors will too.
Post your questions on this article and hopefully they can be brought up during the meeting. IF I can make it I’ll be more than happy to ask.

I wish I can be there but that’s during my work hours. If at all possible, can someone address public safety in local shopping centers. I have concerns when my wife calls me and tells me she can’t shop somewhere because there are undesirable looking people (gangster/thug looking freaks) loitering around shopping center parking lots. What can be done to clean this up? I also feel they degrade the appearance of our community and deter locals from shopping locally. I personally hate to drive to Santa Clarita to do our shopping when we can support and enhance our local businesses.

    TURD Ferguson,
Either go and ask him to justify LEAPS or shut up.. it’s one thing to go online and troll your distaste for LEAPS, but why don’t you put your mouth to work instead of your fingers and ask LASD in person to justify the cost and usage.

The new Captain didn’t have anything to do with Rex and his jesters airplane party.
Why would someone ask him for an explanation? We can’t even get one out of the King. He doesn’t think we deserve an explanation or an opinion.
