PALMDALE – David Grajeda, a candidate for the position of Mayor of the City of Lancaster, in today’s general municipal election was arrested late Sunday night. The following is the press release from the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station:
On April 8, 2012 at approximately [10:47 p.m.], Palmdale Station received a call of a fight at the Cinemark Theater near the Antelope Valley Mall.
Responding deputies learned that suspect [David] Grajeda’s ex-girlfriend was leaving the theater with her current boyfriend when they were confronted by suspect Grajeda.
Suspect Grajeda accused the victims of ruining his family. The victims tried to leave, but suspect Grajeda followed them to their car and challenged the male to fight.
The victim retrieved a Taser from his vehicle and told suspect Grajeda to leave. Suspect Grajeda refused and made another threat.
The victim then deployed his Taser, incapacitating suspect Grajeda. Arriving deputies determined suspect Grajeda’s ex-girlfriend had a valid domestic violence restraining order against him. Suspect Grajeda was arrested for violating the restraining order and for challenging the second victim to fight.
He was taken to Palmdale Regional Medical Center and treated for his injures from the Taser. He was booked at Palmdale Station and released on a promise to appear. Suspect Grajeda is a candidate for the position of Mayor of the City of Lancaster. The election for that position is April 10, 2012.
