Thanks for reminding me why I am so happy I moved out of the A.V. I know it wasn’t the nicest place in the 80’s and 90’s when I grew up there but believe it or not it has become even worse. The few times I have been back to visit friends and family, things continue to go down hill. Cheap housing attracted all the lower to middle class families, like mine, then the violent mix of people and the lack of anything productive for people to do, took it’s toll. Drugs were much easier to find then jobs, section 8, foreclosures, meth and gangs. All this, neatly contained in a valley cut off from L.A. and bordered by 1,000 miles of desert. Good luck to my family and friends still there, I could never imagine raising kids in that enviroment….so much stacked against them, hopefully they live to see 18.

Are you going to run from every place that has problems? How long are you gonna keep running? There is no utopia. The AV has lots of potential just because of it’s geography & I believe it will get it’s time in the sun again when the economy and aerospace start picking back up. I could have run with my tail between my legs lime you did but I chose not to. I love the AV and i am committed to being here for the long haul and being an active member of the community. The good people here are vigilant and we will prevail against the gang members, the lowlives and those who choose to be miscreants. Have fun running! Run, run, run until your shoes fall off!

Trevor you poor ignorant moron, we have idiots on both parties, just take a look at the clown The City of Lancaster has for a Mayor, (I am Republican), we have this moron (Parris)going around censoring public meetings, spiying on people, getting richer from his elected position, conflict of interes situations, nominatin “yes” women to vacant city positions, thowing people in jail for speaking thier mind, everyone thinks he fixed his election, so please don’t add to our shame, all you are doing is making us (Republican)look like racist morons.

LOL. Wonder if “Trevor” has a clue? Does “Trevor know that EVERY seat governing this valley is held by a Republican? And has been for years? Duh! (“Trevor” certainly has added to the STUPID quota!)

“Conservatives” like ‘Trevor’ are a good reason why so many people are leaving the Republicans and Teabaggers to become all of those new decline to state voters.

Remind me again, how is this a political issue? A domestic dispute is not a gang bang. And being shot in a certain part of town does not automatically make a crime gang-related. You crazy right wingers always whip yourselves into a frenzy, and spoil it for the rest of us sensible folks who reserve judgement until facts are presented. You sir, are the reason I decline to state MY political affiliation anywhere outside of this one-horse town!

*I meant gang bang shooting… A domestic dispute is not a gang bang shooting…

Trevor appears to be a little bit of a racist, and factually wrong too.
Maybe he hasn’t been around long enough to remember, but when Palmdale and Lancaster became cities, both of them did so with the help of Democrats, and Democrats were elected to office in both cities. Larry Chimbole, George Root, Arnie Rodio, just to name 3 that I can name off the top of my head, but there were others.
When he talks about bringing people up here, it’s just the polite way of saying that both cities are a lot more colorful than they used to be, doesn’t have anything to do with Democrat or Republican. He’s just throwing a fit because his nice white towns now have shades of brown and black in them too.
Back in the old days, Democrats were a lot more productive than they are these days too. They actually got people elected, held big fundraisers, and were really big in the community. Maybe the question that should be asked by Democrats is why this current group is more interested in personal promotion than success.

As you put it “a little color” is good for a town….but.

Those who bring crime, violence and anti-social behavior with them when they move up to the AV are not welcome anywhere, no matter what the color of their skin.

Move to the AV and want to ‘Bang, or act like a Thug, I’ve got no time or compassion for you.

I tend to agree with you on that, Palmdale_Steve. If somebody moves into the AV – regardless of the color of their skin – and wants to engage in violent criminal activities, then they belong behind bars. Period.

It’s going to have to come down to vigilante justice. Our local Sheriffs are to busy dwelling their dirty hands into illegal and corrupt activities to tackle the real crime.

This is what all of you Democrats on here have dreamed about! You wanted to turn these cities into mini versions of L.A. full of crime and gangs because by importing criminals here was the only way you could ever vote a Democrat in into local office. Well congratulations because our cities have become shooting galleries for criminals! Thank You Democrats and liberals! No wonder no SANE person wants to be a Democrat anymore and many are calling themselves “decline to state” now! ha!
