Occupy AV prepares for march Saturday

An Occupy AV facilitator creates signs for Saturday's march.

LANCASTER – The facilitators behind Occupy Antelope Valley met Friday night to finalize plans for their march in solidarity with the global Occupy Wall Street Movement.

Demonstrators will meet at Lancaster City Hall at 10 a.m., Saturday. They will march south on Fern Avenue to Lancaster Boulevard and then west on Lancaster Boulevard to 10th street west.

The demonstrators will then cross the street and march east on Lancaster Boulevard to Sierra Highway. They will hold a peaceful rally across from the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station before heading west down Lancaster Boulevard and north on Fern Avenue back to City Hall.

All are welcomed to join the non-violent march.

Saturday’s march will be followed by a Move Your Money March and Demonstration on November 5th. The ongoing occupation is scheduled to begin immediately following the march on November 5th.

Moving money to a Credit Union owned by your fellow workers is not a bad idea. Rates are a bit higher for loans and rates for savings are a bit lower however.

Mine has always been with a credit union. Though, I have to admit that being with a certain local credit union has tried my patience too. Take a guess at which one? lol

Will there be pony rides, ice cream and clowns to entertain the masses? Maybe some bread a circuses provided by Mayor TRex.

Will Rex dress up as Kenny Rogers? Oh, wait. He doesn’t have to.

        Maybe he will.

But how many of the Democratic “leaders” from the AV will participate in this march? It will be good for people in the AV to understand if Democratic party supports this movement or not.

It’s a tricky thing. The republicans will hammer them if they do and the Democrat base will do so if they don’t.

I think, for now, the Democrats in office should support the OWS discreetly and not necessarily at rallies and such as that might be counter-productive.

‘Obamacare’, gay marriage in New York state and the end of DADT happened by Obama playing it cool. If he had been out front, the right would have re-doubled their attacks and those things might not have occured. Obama works best when it looks like he’s not doing anything like getting bin Laden or toppling Ghadaffi.

I noticed a few members of the DCHD in the march today, including some from the Executive Board.
