Ms. Lancaster Grand Prix

LANCASTER – The City of Lancaster has announced the locations affected by the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix, which takes place October 7th through October 9th.

Thursday, The BLVD will be closed from Fern to Yucca for the Farmers’ Market and race track construction. The Farmers’ Market will be relocated to the Fern to Ehrlich/Elm block of The BLVD due to the Grand Prix.

The Grand Prix race track runs along The BLVD from Yucca to Ehrlich/Elm; south on Elm to Milling; east on Milling to Date; and north back to The BLVD. These streets will be closed Thursday through Sunday with business access remaining most of Thursday.

Racing begins at 10 a.m. Friday. View a complete schedule of all races here.

There will be pedestrian walkways on Cedar, Date, and Ehrlich/Elm to ensure access to businesses, with 5-10 minute pauses in the racing every 15-20 minutes to allow people to cross.

On Saturday, The BLVD will be closed from Genoa to Yucca to accommodate a street festival and car show.

On Sunday, The BLVD will be reopened from Genoa to Gadsden, but will remain closed from Gadsden to Yucca for the event’s activities.  All streets will be reopened late Sunday evening after the races are over.

During the Grand Prix, parking will be available in parking lots behind BLVD businesses, accessible by Kettering Street and Milling Street or Newgrove Avenue. Public parking is also available in the City Hall, library, and LPAC parking lots, and along various side streets.

The City has released a map, which shows street closures, parking lots and street parking. View the map here.
